Early on Wednesday the 28 November 2007 we left for Alexander Bay which is 2 hours drive from Springbok. It took us approximately 12 hours from Cape Town to drive to Alexander Bay due to the big load of catering equipment we had to pull.
Friday while preparing for our big event on Saturday we catered for 150 People, dishing each plate with Green Salad, Coleslaw, Sausage, Chop, Chicken and a Roll. For Saturday we had to cut 80 Cabbage’s, 3000 pieces of chicken, 3000 pieces of sausage, 3000 Garlic Potatoes, butter 3000 Hamburger Rolls and Hotdog Rolls, cut tomatoes, lettuce and onions and prepare 44 Lamb.
Main course was served at 3:00pm on Saturday, we had to dish the plates before handing each person with 1 piece of chicken, 1 Slice of Lamb Spitbraai, Coleslaw, Green Salad and a Potato with a hamburger roll. We had about one and a half hours rest, before starting the sausage rolls for 7:00pm, we finished handing them out at 10:30pm Saturday night.
We had +/- 13 people that helped us that day. We would like to thank them all... it is much appreciated.
